If cynics made religion

If God made religion, it would be no religion. I don't believe in God. So... Someone else created religion. Who did?

If cynics made religion,

It would mean religion,

In a bizarre universe,

It would mean chaos.

 

If cynics made religion,

There would be no centre,

There would be no hope,

There would be no answers.

 

If cynics made religion,

Creation would mean lies,

Survival would mean unjust

Death would mean darkness

 

If cynics made religion

There would be no arc

There would be no circle

There would be no pattern

 

If cynics made religion

It would mean questions

It would mean cynicism

It would mean interrogation

 

If cynics made religion

It would ask more proof

It would seek more material

It would foil more truths

 

Yet, cynics did not make religion

Then who did?

If cynics did make religion,

Then what is it?
