The Truth

The Truth

A Poem by Nida Lodi

As the darkness of the night deepens
my silence speaks to the whispers of the air
i pour out my every single pain
feeling happy that i finally left them ashore
i turn back rejoicing my freedom
and my woes again mock at me
making me realize that happiness was just a dream
and the pain is the only truth i have!

What an overwhelming sad reality you have described.. The combination of light metaphors and an exercise with the mind makes this a very interesting poem, indeed. Great work.

.
. oh, this is brutally beautiful ... brutal because it's a painful realization and beautiful because after this realization ... begins one's quest to seek true happiness ... it's extremely challenging but it can be done ... and i'm sure you'll shine through ... you are obviously sensitive, determined and intelligent ... good luck ...

"pain is the only truth I have". What a bleak ending, and quite an emotive one! This poem seems to be filled with pain, and a thoroughly cynical view of life? It could be a good addition to the "Dark Poetry" writing group - on this site? Writing with a dark nature, sometimes catches my eye (and I sometimes write in this genre too). Thankyou, for this submission to my latest Contest!

a sad poem...and yet a very nice work on those feelings of loss and unhappiness...life deals a losing hand at times...

enjoyed...
