Sun's Gone

Sun's Gone

A Poem by Nico Wiersema

Limping through the lavish drops of darkened waters

Anticipation of the end

Days of dawns that sought our courage

To overcome the intensity of solar streaks

The dust is now an image of the past

But it always feels that it can last

Forever

Anticipation of the end

Of the beginning

Of the days we need to rest

Limping through the puzzles of puddles of darkened waters

Jumping up and watch it go

Thunder through the windows and a shadow view

Now go to the covers that hold you tight

You will hear the sounds with that blurry sight

And nothing can happen " it’s good to see

There’s water in places we haven’t been

Yet we know it’s good to find some rest

No more dust and roaring rays

Anticipation of the time

Of cold

Of rest

Of everything we have
