I wrote this poem when I was struggling to find out who I am, as a deaf person.
The butterfly wings and the colors represent the vibrancy of deaf culture
She's so beautiful.
With all her colours upon her wings.
I hate her.
She flutters so freely in the sky,
A broad array of colours.
All I can do, is look up at her,
And dream of my own
Butterfly wings.
Beautiful poem you've shared here. I couldn't imagine being deaf, being a musician as I am. But it's true that there's an entirely new, vibrant perspective from those who can't hear. It's so easy to take our senses for granted, to adapt takes a very strong person. Spread those butterfly wings and fly far and wide, show the world your colors.

I wish I'd knew what the butterfly wings represent.
The poem gives me the chills, mixed emotions of the hero, in one stance stands at awe and another at hate, but the end is clear, it has noting to do with all, the hero just wants what it can't get.
