Insanity

Insanity

A Poem by Nicholas Whitney

The shadow of a shadow is the answer to a question that’s never been asked.  If you don’t understand what I mean than we’ve discovered the first thing we have in common and I think we should be friends.  If you don’t like your friends than we should be enemies and go on vacation together.  If you’ve been everywhere then you’ll be bored, but there’s a lot I haven’t seen yet.  There’s a lot I haven’t seen yet.  I’m sorry, sometimes I repeat myself.  I’m sorry.  Sometimes.  I repeat myself, do you know anyone who speaks Latin?  I like to get to the root of things.  Especially words.   The root of a word is the root of a problem.  Problems are funny like shadows.  The root of a problem is like the shadow of a shadow.  I’m sorry, sometimes I repeat myself.
