Chapter 2A Chapter by black☠princessChapter 2 Every night her dreams would tell her the same thing, run. However, this night was different; there was more of an urgency in its tone. On this night it said, “Don’t hesitate, don’t trust, don’t look, just run; runaway.” Suddenly her eyes flashed open. She hurried over to the cell door. She was exhausted. She grabbed one of the bars to help support herself. She was getting a bad feeling. This feeling told her to stay away from the walls. As if they were going to explode at any given moment. Sure enough the ground began to shake and the back wall exploded into ruble. There amidst all the dust that lay wake in this god for saken air. Stood the most handsome man she had ever seen. He stood there with a strong posture, his hazelnut eyes glowed through the reflection of all the dust particles. His hair a soft flowing almost feathery velvet brown. Which blew in the wind of the explosion? While even though it was brown it appeared a golden haze. His skin looked like the finest Egyptian silk, and as if it would feel like cashmeres. Then she shook her head and denied his beauty. Sure that he only appeared this way because it had been many years since she had seen anyone from the outside world and surely the sun had helped him bask in this beauty. Then his glistening voice cleared the clouds of thought. As he said, “Come on we need to get out of here; so hurry!” Then the words of last night’s dream ran through her mind once more, “don’t hesitate”. They ran as fast as they could through the explosions and gunfire, and as they ran along the corridors in the midst of battle. The words of her dream came once more, “Don’t trust.” So at the next intersection of halls she slyly slipped away from him and began looking for a different exit. She scrambled through the corridors, tripping and stumbling at every turn. Then she saw it. It, it was light. She couldn’t believe it. She slowed to a walk for but only a moment; remembering that if she slowed she might get killed. Finally, she reached the outside. However the light was blinding, then she remembered, “Don’t look.” She remembered seeing some bushes in a ditch nearby. So she ran as fast as she could in that direction. Once her eyes adjusted she saw some of the rebel vehicles not far northwest of there. She quickly stowed away on the back of one of the trucks. She could hear them getting back on board. They were yelling but she couldn’t quite make out what. But it didn’t matter what they yelled or what they were saying amongst themselves. She was going to find out everything that happened. She was tired of not knowing anything. At that she jumped off the back of the truck, making sure not to be seen. She jumped off because she didn’t know how far those rebels were going, but it couldn’t have been much longer. They had been riding for hours, and she knew it wouldn’t be good if she was found. So she decided to get off where there was a fork in the road. As she looked down it she could see a large city not too far down the road. That was where she was going next. It took an hour to get there. Once she did it wasn’t very hard to get in unnoticed. She snuck from alley to alley until she finally came across a clothing store. Luckily for her the door had no bell on it, so she was able to sneak in. Once inside she quickly grabbed some clothes and shoes, making sure to grab a ribbon. She snuck herself into a dressing room stall. Quickly getting dressed into the clothes. When she looked in the mirror she quickly regretted her snatch grab. However, she was at least happy that it matched. She walked out onto the street. She was a bit annoyed. She really hated this girly girl bullshit. Though she had to admit she did look good in it. She was wearing a long loose sleeved white shirt under a plain yellow baby doll tee. She had on a white skirt and heels. She also wore a yellow ribbon with silver lining gently across her neck, which conveniently covered the cross on her neck. As she walked she looked at the pattern of the stone as she listened to the clacking of her white heels. Always keeping an even pace; never too big, never too small. While walking she smelled something sweet nearby. She looked up and saw a bakery. She decided to walk into it, it was harmless enough. As she walked inside this quant and cozy brick building, she smelled all sorts of sweet aromas. They were all so sweet and unknown to her. It was oddly welcoming, and yet it was so unknowingly sweet that it seemed slightly sinister. As if it were sickly sweet. Like candy covered in pure sugar. It looks so sweet that its mouth watering, but when you take that first nibble; it doesn’t take long to realize it is sour. So she walked to the back slowly, eyeing all the exits. Once she reached the counter she gazed in wonder at all the delicious treats. Then one of the clerks from behind the counter walked up to her and asked, “May I help you?” Completely oblivious, she kept looking over the delicious treats. Then he spoke again only this time louder, “Excuse me, Miss? May I help you?!” This time she looked up and saw him standing there. He had black spiky hair and green eyes; he wore a white polo and black formal pants under a pecan colored apron. An apron which read Mike’s Coffee and Pastry, going around the top of a circle that had the picture of a pie in the middle of it. She simply pointed to a glazed cinnamon and pecan coffeecake. He cut her a square and she payed him with some money she found lying on the street. She sat and ate it on a small round stone table just outside the shop. When she finished she sat there and stared at her feet for a while. Then a stranger sat down at the table with her. She looked up…
