You Were Standing There

You Were Standing There

A Poem by nicki_504

You were standing there.

You stood there,

I stood not too far.

And I wondered who I am,

And who we are.

We exchanged no smiles,

No pleasantries departed lips cold as ice.

And now that chapter is gone,

I now believe I can move on.

You standing there,

Eyes now hold no stare.

And still I am saddened we will share no more,

You are gone that now is sure.

Could you not have seen me there?

Could you really not care?

No longer will we share.

You are lost now I fear.
