How You Would DissolveA Poem by nicki_504
How You Would Dissolve. Wondering what would make you less, what would break you down, what wave would float by and submerge your existence as you slowly drown. What pain you could inflict upon me, what evil you could do to let all I have of you dissolve completely. What could you do? What could you say? What could you take? What could you orchestrate? To remove what I have for you, what I have found only in you. I have no answer my imagination in its unabridged state can think no thought that would let me lose what I have found of you. No great peril by your hand could ever remove all I have found in you. No great evil could invoke any feelings contradictory to what I feel for you. You can do no wrong, you can create no ill-will, you are unable to procure malignance. A fate as expansive as this has become strengthened in its dominance. And I fear nothing when I realize the extent of its perseverance. What could I do? What could I say? What could I take? What could I orchestrate? To remove what I have for you, what I have found in you. I have no answer my imagination in its unabridged state would never allow thoughts of dissolving all that I have found of you. No great peril or evil by your hand could end what I have found in you. And I fear nothing when I realize the extent of my persistence. I fear nothing when I realize the context of my insistence. How would you dissolve while I am still this, while I am still me? How you would dissolve if I no longer continued being me. © 2008 nicki_504 |
