Chronicle of Desperation : 3

Chronicle of Desperation : 3

A Poem by Nickjohnson

To my friend, Love,

Let me relieve you of your duties, you must be tired by now. Sincerely let me brush the sweat from your brow and take your post. You’ve abandoned me, and I won’t allow the cycle to continue. I’ll wait for you; wait for you as long as it takes, even an eternity. Misery has spent too much time in your presence, holding hands like a young couple eminent in destruction. Come back to me when the watch you wear isn’t always spinning out of control, wild and reckless.

Where would I be without you love? The same place in life perhaps? Or have you intervened and actually added something to this existence. I don’t appreciate my family because of you that is a natural love, not of you, something man-made and evasive. I’ve yet to experience you and I pray that you can one day return to your post. Whether you are fiery as lust or as cold as the frost of a lover’s heart present yourself to me, just one time, and I’ll kneel to you breathing in every word ever uttered before.

Sincerely, I miss something I’ve never even known.

Your friend,

Anonymous.
