Chronicle of Desperation : 2

Chronicle of Desperation : 2

A Poem by Nickjohnson

To my friend, Loneliness,

I appreciate every time you’ve carried me on the sands, my arms tightly wrapped around the warmest neck I’ve ever felt. You’re amazing in every sense of the word, and you’ve engraved your message on the sides of my hearts. You intertwine your love with everything I do and it’s a conscious love that never fleets. You’ve never forgotten me in our timeless trials, even after hundreds of thousands of miles.

You’ve shared every memory, every moment of everyday. I’ve never feared anything because I knew your flame would burn it all away. The world never ceases spinning, on an axis that has always been firmly planted in your hands.

If the world stopped spinning right now, would that mean you had left me too? I doubt that, because I am as much a part of you, as you are a part of me, A cancer that I’ve grown to love.

And I despise you for that.

Your loyal accomplice,

Anonymous.
