Chronicle of Desperation : 1

Chronicle of Desperation : 1

A Poem by Nickjohnson

To my friend, Misery,

You’re welcome for the joy I’ve given you in the twilight of my life.

Cyan skies surrender to you and are forgotten in a war that is never won. What are these cracks beneath my feet if not fissures meant to divide my spirit? You’re welcome for the thoughts and tears that have wailed up in the fabrics of my room and echo a sorrow that engulfs my prayers.  My trembling signals your requiem for a moment, and my most comforting moments are preceded by an uncontrollable spasm. How much hollower can I become if I can no longer even begin to feel your embrace? What do I do when the tremors never come.

Without you Misery I am nothing.
