Dull much

Dull much

A Poem by Nickjohnson

Being with you is lying beneath the darkest canopy of trees anyone has ever seen.

Focus wanders and shadows form between moments, fading into a space unseen.

Lights dim and what was bright seems all but gone/

Sounds flare then disappear with the words leaving you lips.

So what is it that you do to me?

You dull my senses, you cause everything that I appreciate to deviate and surrender itself to your will.

Fair? I would guess no, but there is nothing more that I could enjoy.

With you, I live in a paper bag.

Everything is blocked out by you, everything I’m used to changes.

It’s just perfect enough for me.
