Radiant, the statues

Radiant, the statues

A Poem by Nickjohnson
"

The feeling I get when I am too close to someone.

"

Look into me with eyes that pierce with love, like you shattered the sky and stars above.

Feel in me the love I want, look into me and feel what I feel.

That’s the problem being a reflection for what you want to hear.

I am simply radiant, blinding you with compassion that makes you turn away.

Is it fear you see in me, to not be a bronze statue marked with a warrior at your side.

What has happened to the days when you looked into me and cried for someone who would just care.

I’m not the grandest tree, the most crystal clear lake, the widest ravine, the flattest plateau, the deepest valley or the highest mountain.

All these things are what I see in you.

The grandest of things now and to come.

Can we look into each other, and for an eternity,

Look into each other, and be shrouded in the darkest

Parts of the heart.?
