Disintegrate

Disintegrate

A Poem by Nickjohnson

I watched our stars tonight as they burst and disintegrate.
I watched you at the crossroads of the forest and the plains,
and beheld the darkness imbue our path.
In reverence your spirit kneeled, we persisted.

I watched the shadows along our path pull and bind us.
I watched you beckon for help, staring into space,
I bring terrible news, though it is sad to say
Your prayers are just whispers to the clouds.

Filled with hatred, you called for a single person.
Filled with dissatisfaction, your tears fell and were born again into nothingness.
Filled with the determination of a journey just begun, you screamed again to the sky.

This sky, layering its bleakness over the shards of dreams
You collected and fashioned into stars worn like antique dresses
Now consumes you, and it fuels you.

I see you once again at a crossroads.
From here, it is the twisting, glaring
Decision between adventuring on,
Or returning.

Just wanted everyone to have a general idea as to what the poems is about. Basically it's a reflection of a point in my life, with me looking onto myself. Sort of like an out of body experience where I just see what caused me to be where I am.

You did awesome on this poem. Great descriptive words, I could really tell your meaning without getting confused, but at the same time, appreciating your work. This poem seems to have some in depth feeling to it, like you really connected with the poem. Perhaps you wrote it for someone. Who knows. One thing that I particularly like, is that you put it in first person. Most poems aren't like that, and I give you kudos for doing it like that.
