Windborn Musings

Windborn Musings

A Poem by Nickjohnson
"

Win.

"

Move me mighty wind, brush me aside
And wisp me away, for you know better than I.
Shake me as the leaves, once anchored sturdily to
An unwavering giant.
Move through me, carrying the lessons of your journey
past my heart and into the soul entranced by your elegant whispers.
Lift my spirit, and carry my love to the four corners.
Wrap me in your frost, chill me to the bone, and watch as
This ornate wall of weakness melts, my gut burning with
The frustrations of a bitter Beelzebub.
Let it roll from my shoulders, the hardest part is over
Catch this weakness as it descends, and carry it to another,
Soak the skies in this fear and hostility
And with your cleansing breath, dry the world.
So once again, I may have a moment
To appreciate, what is left in your wake.

Lovely use of language. Your writing really reminded me a lot of Mary Shelley, so I could even see this poem as relating to Frankenstein's monster. That was kind of cool. : ) I can tell that you enjoy writing poetry and playing with words. The way you changed seasons and styles of writing was very effective. Good for you!
