Poison My Blood (Thicker than blood Parody) (Garth brooks)

Poison My Blood (Thicker than blood Parody) (Garth brooks)

A Chapter by MandaBear
"

This is my take on Garth Brooks song " Thicker than Blood". I used Nero in this story. He killed his first and second wife and had his mother killed and later he was killed. So I hope you like it.

"
He was born in a Roman city
Raised by Agrippina
Betrothed to another queen
He had no other babies
Wanted one of his own
He got together
With a new queen
His power he shared
Which made him insane
But his family
Was a family none the same
It's been said
Water is thicker than mud
Oh, but poison is
Thicker than blood

With his new family on the way
Power raining down
Lord, he must have
Mother trying to steal
Away all of his loyal people
Just walking around
Lord, I can't comprehend
The anxiety they feel

For that invisible river of poison
Will be the death of me
God give him the strength
To keep that contagion away from him
Oh, but poison is
Thicker than blood

And if poison is
Thicker than blood
Then water we fighting for?
Is it for his emperors power
Or something that
Is so much more

I seen him on the stage
But you must understand
Lord, he was the one
He killed his wife with his knee
How in Nero's name
Would you hit her with his fists
With his hands
He killed another
Just because they didn't agree

As he walked down the halls
He couldn't see though
And see what Nero
Has been telling you and me
Water is thicker than mud
Oh, but poison is
Thicker than blood

A complete story in so few words. I had to read the poem a second time for pleasure. I like history and this poem told a real story. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

Loved the last stanza. I'm a country kind of girl so I'm familiar with the song, nice take on it! Enjoyed this.

very nice, i love the end the most, how you write, "And see what Nero has been telling you and me" you repeat yourself but in a very interesting way, like your expressing something lightly but getting more and more serious, if that makes any sense at all haha, great write though :D
