Sound Wave

Sound Wave

A Poem by MandaBear
"

I hope you like it. It was for a prompt. For this prompt you must write something that involves sound. So I hope I got it :) Let me know. Love or Hate?

"
I once had a voice,
So pure and sweet;
But curiosity got the best of me.
So I gave it up you see.
No more singing, giggling or laughing.
But for him I would give anything.
I gave my voice to an evil doer.
Who had no intention of giving it back.
On one condition you see,
I must kiss my true love in 3 days time.
Or forever silence will be mine.
And she will own me for all of time.
So I set out on my quest.
To get true loves kiss.
With my trusty crab friend and my loyal fish,
I will find out how to be Part of your world.
Finally I find my prince.
Handsome and nice as can be.
For my heart and eyes I only have for thee.
Your lips will be mine.
We meet and fall in love.
But the mean on witch has a plan,
To take away my man.
So I cant have true loves kiss.
She plans on marrying him.
Oh, what to do, oh, my love so true.
I will get help that is what I must do.
Father will know what to do.
They battle it out,
A fight for ultimate justice.
With his mighty power from the sea,
He beats the evil witch he he he.
In the end the power of love triumphs all.
And with true loves kiss......
The spell was broken and I got my Voice back
And live happily ever after.
Moral of the story: Don't go giving your voice away because you might need it.

When I read this one of the first things that came to mind was 'The Little Mermaid'. The more I read the poem the more I thought about her.

I love happy endings, this was sweet with a moral too. I enjoyed the story in this and how it went through it all and then had a nice conclusion at the end.

Sounds like Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid to me. Can you tell I'm a grandma? I watched it many times with my daughter and then my grandchildren.

I agree with the words in the poem. Don't give away everything. May need something to give to your true love. A nice story with some wisdom in the words. A strong ending to a excellent poem.
