A Brave Face

Just thought of this when I was listening to Avril Levine's song "Happy Ending". I hope you enjoy!

                                                                                       

I try to bury the emotions down 

Try to hide them so you can't see 

Can't see the tears streaming 

So I put on a brave face 

Inside I am crying so much 

You struck the heart and now it's bleeding 

Hopes dashed, Dreams crushed 

No warning of the impending impact 

No strings attached 

No emotions to speak of 

No love to be found 

So I put on a brave face 

I hope you can't see right through 

To see how much my heart hurts 

But it's like putting a broken mirror back together 

Without getting a single cut from the broken glass 

So bury my emotions 

Hide how I really feel 

Wipe the tears from my face 

And put on a brave face
