Falling leaves removed 
"I can fall on my own"
Big tree can't let go
Winter coming , snow too
Time rolling by, seasons

Definition of a Tanka Poem- a Japanese poem consisting of 31 syllables in 5 lines, with 5 syllables in the first and third lines and 7 in the others.

Such a lovely Tanka and I think you did great for your first! I haven't written these before but you have packed such a lot of images in these few lines and words.
That connection with the seasons and time is crucial to understanding life....Big tree can't let go...my favourite line!

While a single leaf can certainly break and fall, it takes all the leaves of a tree for one to recognize Fall. :)

You did very well. Complete poem in so few words. I'm sad to see the leaves go away and Winter coming soon. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
