Losing my fall colors (Tanka #1)
A Poem by
MandaBear
This is my first attempt at a Tanka poem. What do you think?
Falling leaves removed
"I can fall on my own"
Big tree can't let go
Winter coming , snow too
Time rolling by, seasons

Such a lovely Tanka and I think you did great for your first! I haven't written these before but you have packed such a lot of images in these few lines and words.
That connection with the seasons and time is crucial to understanding life....Big tree can't let go...my favourite line!
Love this!

While a single leaf can certainly break and fall, it takes all the leaves of a tree for one to recognize Fall. :)

You did very well. Complete poem in so few words. I'm sad to see the leaves go away and Winter coming soon. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
