Maybe

Maybe

A Poem by MandaBear
"

Just something I came up with on the spot

"
Maybe this has all been a lie
Maybe we truly aren't meant to be
Maybe we are fooling ourselves
Maybe just maybe

Two star crossed lovers look into the night
Wishing and hoping their dreams come true
Wishing so hard the star might break its light
Praying on their hands and knee's too.

Maybe if you wish hard enough
Maybe if you want it strong enough
Maybe if you long for it long enough
Maybe just maybe

Your lie will soon become your truth
Your truth becomes your lie
Hiding like sharp knives waiting to pierce you heart
Waiting for the right moment to watch the blood flow

Maybe you just been the lie hidden by the truth
Maybe your truth has become your lie
Maybe I am that sharp knife just waiting
Maybe just maybe

That - depends on your point of view. Some people optimistically say the glass is half full, others pessimistically complain that it is half empty. Me ? I wonder who poured the milk in the first place. :)

Truly, wishes can be very helpful in moments of great trauma and depression. These words - simple words at that, should always be considered when engaging in wishful and hopeful thinking.

"What can it hurt ?"

The maybes of life leave us wishing for better beginning and less endings. I like the thoughts and honest emotion in the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
