Dear Thunderstorms

I ABSOLUTELY cannot stand thunderstorms they simply freak me out! I know they are something I cant stop nor have any control over but this is my letter to a thunderstorm about my feelings! Enjoy!

Dear Thunderstorms,

You are a part of nature I know 

But I really wish you would go 

As much as we need the rain 

You really are a pain 

You are loud and unnecessarily so 

The lighting bolts freak me out 

Rain I can deal with amount 

On the scary scale you are not low 

Thunderstorms if you please 

Just find a way to stay away from me 

Take all the loud noises and thunderclaps 

Go to the other side of the map

Go cause your rain somewhere else

Maybe the desert perhaps?

Maybe find a new forests in which to relax?

I simply don't need another thunderstorm under my belt

The strong thunderstorms are the worst 

They make the outside sound like its cursed 

Winds whipping trees with abound 

No wonder you see most of them on the ground 

You make my nerves go all crazy

My brain can't stop thinking about you

Sometimes my mind gets a little hazy

Other times you make me want to cry boo-who 

So thunderstorms I know you are a natural thing 

I just ask you stay as far away from me 

Although I don't mind the rain that you bring 

You just don't leave me with my glee.

My two four years Grandsons were scare of the thunder. I told them it was Thor. He was mad. They laugh and they lost fear. Many people fear thunder. It is dangerous and to fear thunder is logical. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Beautifully said Amanda, with great imagery. I love thunderstorms (as long as I'm indoors). I find them refreshing, a way of letting me know that out there somewhere, someone is having their distress washed away by rain.

Every time I find myself complaining about the weather I focus on these positive words.....one of my favorite quotes.

“May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being, may you walk gently through the world and know it's beauty all the days of your life.”

Thank you so much for your review :) I am beginning to think I am the only one on here who doesn't like thunderstorms lol everyone seems to love them I really cant see why. Yes they make rain but they also have noise and lighting that can cause damage and thunder that is generally annoying. Anyway I have rambled on thank you for your lovely review

Thank you. I have come to the conclusion that I am the only one that doesn't like thunderstorms I will glad trade anyone that loves them that doesn't get to see them because I don't like them! lol Thank you for the review though =)

I love rainstorms so what can I say ! Bring 'em on ! I love tornadoes, hurricanes, and typhoons too, (usually from when I'm indoors and under the bed tho !) :)

And Rain is very much a part of life, lass. It cleanses and washes and - the coolio thing is when it's all done you get this neato Rainbow ! Absolutely worth it !

Thanks for the review. I think its more the noise I dont like really and the wind (well at least the strong wind) I don't mind the rain and the rainbows. I like the sun lol well when its spring time lol I am not much for heat lol Not much I can really do about thunderstorms they are here doesn't mean I have to like it lol

I get rainstorms so few that when I wanna relax, I have this audio of a rainstorm and it starts out small and gets bigger and then after an hour fades away. You can sleep so well listening to a thunderstorm I don't why that is but it done.

Here's hoping you get over your discomfort of storms - we all need rain, when it gets all windy violent and stuff - it's just Mother Earth saying, "Enough with the pollution alreayd" and junk. My sister said that at some point she'll shake us all off like fleas. She could be right. :)
