GraveA Poem by MandaBearSomething I thought of while watching a History channel Documentary.Closed eyes and a soul departed Cold, damp and dark in a lonely underground Laying breathless full of memories. A life lived above the sorrow. A solitude so quite and alone In the ground so deep A tomb for a lifetime of sleep In this place will your soul keep Under the rubble, sand and stone. A body full of flesh and bone. Words are written on the stone. Here lies the mourned soul shown. Dirt covers the case like tomb. Buried deep down in the earth. The loudest sound is a whisper in the wind. Under this earthy mound. A body decomposed and oh so old. Less and less flesh and bone. On our way to our internal home. Going toward the light with a sweet embrace. Closed eyes and a soul departed Cold, damp and dark in a lonely underground Laying breathless full of memories. A life lived above the sorrow. © 2013 MandaBearReviews
