Thomas Jefferson (President # 3) (1801-1809)

A Chapter by MandaBear
"

Third President of the United States of America

"
Thomas Jefferson was number three.
The author of the Declaration of Independence.
He even died on the 50th anniversary of this document.
He tired to be as great as he could be.

 Thomas Jefferson lived at Monticello.
He loved that place more than anything.
He often wrote in this letter how much he would rather be there.
He loved his wife Martha with whom he shared his dear Monticello.

Thomas Jefferson spoke six different languages.
He studied Greek,Latin and French.
He also studied History and science.
You could say he was one smart cookie.

I bet you didn't know Thomas Jefferson narrowly escaped capture twice.
He was almost captured by General Banastre Tarleton.
I bet you didn't know that was the Notorious villain in Mel Gibson's The Patriot.
Seems to be he was a great prize to be won if they tried to get him twice.

It is said Thomas was an inventor, and architect.
He was also a terrible at money managing.
He was heavily in debt most of this life.
I guess in his case A penny earned is not well saved.

Thomas Jefferson was one of the founding fathers.
He set the stage for our America.
Thomas Jefferson paved the way for our rights.
Thomas Jefferson never backed down from what he believe in.

Amazing ! This is the kind of person we should get inspiration from ! Someone who could speak several languages, fought for what he believed in ...
Great job =D

Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton are my two favorite people of this time. Both were very wise and led the USA in the right direction. I like the closing line.
"He set the stage for our America.
Thomas Jefferson paved the way for our rights.
Thomas Jefferson never backed down from what he believe in."
Thank you for the description of a great President.
