John Adams had to follow the great George Washington. He felt pressure I am sure it felt like a ton. John Adams confided in his wife about his political life. John Adams traveled the world. He was a Minister to Great Britain. He was also Ambassador to the Netherlands. John Adams was the first president to live in the white house. John nominated George Washington to be Commander in Chief of the continental army. He once told Thomas Jefferson he had to write the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson was a better choice because he was well liked not so for John Adams. John Adams was a Federalist. His son also become President. John Quincy Adams was number six. I guess you can't call these guys hicks. John Adams had some hard times though. His son Charles died of alcoholism don't you know. John and Abigail Adams exchanged over 1100 letters. I wonder if they were the letter trend setters. John Adams died on July 4th,1826. This day is an important date in History. On this day in times long ago, The Declaration of Independence was 50 years old whoa.
