Night and DayA Poem by Nickalas CannonA woman experiences night and day.
My feet touch the open, cold floor-
My hand creeps to the door- I come to the end of the stairs- To only leave a cabin behind me- I step to the ground bare- Soft, moist, and free- It only seems fair- To roam the celstial body- It casts a bright, white light- For only me to see- As my fingers touch the open blades- I open my eyes-Stop in my tracks-Looking for a hopeful gaze The wind braces my hair- My light runs away though- From me- Or its enemy- But it begins to brighten- From his friend-The star I feel a connection- To only them both-Not for me I have freedom, strength, and love for this land- I once had a connection with Sun & Moon- But I had my life with Night & Day- © 2013 Nickalas CannonAuthor's Note
