What started as a lonely night..ended with the unexpected

Stars of Gray

 

Stars of Gray stare back at me, as my tired eyes glaze over the night's sky

Why does it feel like I'm fading away into the darkest of lights?

Am I really that sad, or am I just bored of this life

I feel like they are speaking to me, the Stars of Gray

Saying, "I know I should be bright tonight, like every other night,

But somehow in this moment, I do not feel that certain outer shine

Why must we be always shining, when we feel like gray inside?

Our color should match what we feel, so we are gray tonight.

But who knows what tomorrow may bring?  

Maybe we will be gray again, or we might be blue or green

So we are sad and lonely tonight, but tomorrow may bring us smiles and delight."

I am lost now, frightened of what tomorrow brings

What if I do not change, what if I stay the same?

I guess I will not know, until the night is done

So I lie awake, waiting for that sun

"What am I doing?"

I should not wait for tomorrow, and hope that these questions will be miraculously answered

I should take action, get rid of this sorrow and fear

I should be living again for a solution that is clear

Stars of Gray, I thank you

What started as a lonely, dimmed night...

Ended with me saving my very own life
