Confessions of an Insomniac

Can't Sleep? Read on!

Moon hanging in the sky,

Million stars shining bright.

Its darkness all around,

But I couldnt sleep at night.

 

 

I picked up my favourite music,

Out of the best collection to keep.

Listening it for an hour or so,

Still it couldn't make me sleep.

 

 

Thinking of the past and future,

Deciding what next step to take.

Its now dead of the night,

But i am still lying wide awake.

 

 

Fidgeting for hours unknown,

Various thoughts crossing my mind.

Still no signs of sleep,

Darkness is making me blind.

 

 

Hours of continuous restlessness,

Mounting up to my frustration.

To all my problems now,

Sleep was the only solution.

 

 

Mom comes and sits by me,

I feel her soft and caring hand.

Caressing my head gently,

Letting me drift into my dreamland.

I have never had this problm but i had one close friend who was a lot troubled by this. Now i knw how it could feel. restlessness...!

its a terrible experience especially when some thoughts are consistently stuck in the mind!

Yeah! never experienced it though but heard a lot of it frm friends...Its like dying every second on a sleepless night

Nibhz, I can totally relate to this one! I am quite an insomniac myself. Sometimes, it's so annoying, sometimes it's good, too. Most of my poems have been conceived out of those sleepless nights. Best thoughts often visit me during those wee hours. Though I admit nothing beats a good night's sleep. :)
