Poem for My Love

This is for the best boyfriend in the whole entire galaxy and I am very lucky to be able to call him mine <3

Poem for You

 

Not a thousand songs or a thousand flames

Can express what I feel for you.

No shooting star or lucky charm

Could have made this wish come true

 

Never knowing you were there

And now suddenly, here you are

With your smile of sunshine, body like a god's,

Heart of gold and each eye like star

 

It's been an eternal moment

And a second long lifetime

For you to read this once is worth it because

 Loving you is easier than making this poem rhyme

 

You've never left my side not since you first came

Throughout my life no matter what season

Even if I'm being depressed, and insane

So many days you are my reason

 

This much is oh so true

You're one of a kind

You're always in my thoughts

And I know I'm on your mind

 

I guess I can't help it if I'm in love

My cheeks you will kiss and I still kind of blush,

Okay not kind of I lied; I get red like a cherry

It's over two years later and I still have this crush

 

You make me happier than gummy bears

You make me melt like ice cream

Because many dreams sadly don't last

I'm glad to say I know it's not a dream

 

You love me with all of you

And I love you with all of me

This is exactly how I want it to stay until after the end of forever

And how it's supposed to be

This poem is amazingly lyrical. It's quite beautiful- I can almost hear the brightness of the speaker's voice, as they find themselves in the limbo between hope and wonder that love is. Great job!

I can't help but get the feeling that this was written in a time where the feeling of love was just literally newly discovered by the speaker, and the speaker is going on about the newfound wonder that is the feeling of love itself blooming within them. Well done.
