WaitingA Poem by nfydA simple reminder our loved ones never truly leave usWaiting
I stand at the end waiting for you to come In this moment everything becomes numb It has been far too long since our eyes met Please tell me you will never begin to forget
The time I held your hand when you were hurt The time I showed you grandma’s famous dessert The time I taught you how to ride a bike The time I got us lost on that long hike
The time we sang in church together The time we found my greatest treasure The time we spent watching storms on that old porch The time the sparklers became a giant torch
The time I surprised you with a special gift The time I pulled you in when you began to drift The time we spent around the Christmas tree The time we were met with a strong reality
The time I had my first heart attack The time I seemed completely out of whack The time I had my mini stroke The time we knew it was no joke
The last day we had together The last time since forever The last time we passed each other by The ‘I love you’ hours before I would die
I know each day was tougher than the last Sometimes life seems like it goes too fast But here in this moment just remember this You have a life to live beyond your abyss
For in our memories we are able to grow One day everything will make sense; you know? So I am no longer waiting for you here We both have moved on, it’s been 5 years
I have never been prouder of you then in this moment
now With everything that has happened you did it, somehow Let me fade into the past so I can sing my song But remember our memories to keep you strong
So live faster than the day before And love everyone a little bit more Never stay sad and be slow to get mad I’m always here for you, love your dad
