The Flower OffenderA Story by Keith CharlesA story of fertile flowering.
The Flower Offender
Once there was an artist, a very good artist, and he loved flowers.
He painted them in every shade and colour, and tried to capture the essence of their beauty.
The secret is in their movement he thought, but how can I capture movement in a still life.
Life is movement and movement is life.
From then on not only did he paint, but he also took many moving pictures.
Flowers in bud, flowers in bloom, dancing in the breeze and turning to the Sun.
He could not find what he was looking for.
“I am no nearer the answer”, he told his housekeeper.
He had no time for domestic things, and needed her to look after his day to day affairs.
She wished he would take more interest in her, but he was too preoccupied.
“He's married to his flowers and hardly notices me at all,” she complained to the reporter
who was doing a series of articles on prominent people in the local scene
“such obsession with flower photography is indecent.”

said the headline.
The Police were very thorough and by spending every day for almost six months
their patience was rewarded.
“Stamens” they said, “Close ups of stamens.”
“Doesn't he know reproductive organs are obscene?”
“You will have to register as a flower offender.” said the Judge.
