Or Does It Explode?

Or Does It Explode?

A Poem by Haley Smith

Jealousy creeps in
and brings along with it
the Others.

The ever mild Annoyance
and Uncertainty grow within me;
they converse and chatter
in my head.

Then they invite Frustration.
He never grows old
and is never gone.

Frustration gives Fury a ring,
and she is beautiful,
but fiery;
she burns with the
passion of a thousand
suns in my
soul.

They all manifest
in my heart and temporarily
take place of Love and Dreams.
Paranoia and Insanity are
the mutant forms that
disperse in my brain.

Worry arrives later
and cripples me.
Worry has no mercy.
Mercy is gone;
Jealousy has none for her.

Sadness is perhaps
the most vicious
and puts me into
a chokehold.
Sadness sucks water
out of my eyes.

And then the trickle
of Frustration,
just barely there,
makes me Hate myself
for allowing
Sadness to enter.

All of these People
have now left,
but are sure to come visit
again.
