a warning to the innocent

a warning to the innocent

A Poem by newyearnorma

just another day passes

this one crazier then most

but it doesnt matter most days dont

i feel lost at sea

im stuck in a world where nothing is what it seems

everybody lies and everybody schemes

what hope is there for the few good people left?

the ones who dont see how dangerous the world can be

open your eyes little lambs before you get eaten up by this world

and end up bitter like me

learn to protect yourself,

learn from me dont just believe

learn from my pain and scars

for i have been in many battles with this world

i have been broken and bruised but i learned to survived

learn from me so you wont have to carry as many scars

i didnt have children on my mind when i wrote this, but it does make sense. I was thinking more of the kinda of people who seem innocent in life

As the children of today will be the citizens of the world tomorrow, I agree that the elder generation has a responsibility to make sure they know how to handle what life can bring them. At the same point, making children grow up to fast can be just as harmful. It is their innocent purity that must remind us, that life can function with less hate, greed and selfish actions.
While I tend to agree that there is a lot of vileness in the world these days, I would rather teach my children to be aware of possibilities and inform them of good moral judgement and let them fly as they all do and should. We as adults need be Shepard's that tend the innocent flock, not dictators who might oppress their ability to grow and take wing.
I do see and can validate that what is expressed in your words needs to be part of what they should know. Both goods and evils must they be made aware of.
