the sun

the sun

A Poem by newyearnorma

We had a short period together but boy did we shine

It was like the sun had kissed our love

We were magical together

We were one

Then it was like a solar eclispe

But somehow i will make that short time last me a life time since i know i will never love again

And as you leave me i must thank you for showing me how to live if only for a briefly time

Because i have know love like few do

I'm one of those few people who believe that love never dies. People change but love does not. There are others who would argue that their love has died. But it is not the same love I know. Shakespeare said the same thing I am saying incidently. So on this point at least the Bard of Avon and I are in agreement.

Sonnet 116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved. William Shakespeare
