The Dreadful Decision

The Dreadful Decision

A Poem by Mason Watts
"

this is the moment that is drawing closer. i really do dread it, spending every moment thinking of what to do.

"

My legs are shaking,

My hands are sweating,

as I walk behind you

waiting for a moment.

With each step we get closer

To the moment we will be separated,

And I have to make a decision

Of what I fear most.

I fear that you will leave,

And will never come back

Not knowing what I feel

Not knowing what I want to say.

I dread this feeling greatly

Hoping it will not come.

I also fear saying what I want.

I’m afraid of what you’ll think

What you’ll say, what you’ll do.

With my bashful self

I don’t know what I want.

Now we are close,

Close to the doors that will separate.

So I prepare to make the life decision

That will change me forever.

What to I choose?
