The loves

The loves

A Poem by bella
"

I don't know sometimes just need to read something cute and sweet.

"

I love locking eyes with a stranger
Letting your jaw drop in amazement
Content with it lasting a lifetime
But knowing it won’t
Waiting for them to break the spell
But hoping it’ll last just one second longer
Just one more breath in sync

I love falling in love with a new land
Allowing your eyes to graze the landscape
Become enchanted with every building
And appreciate every speck of dirt
Because this is in deed
The place you’ve been searching for
At least at the moment

I love watching a child try something new
Taste something sour for the first time
Learning to ride a bike

Hearing his dad cheer from the sidelines

Grow an intense avidity for new experiences
All of the firsts are somehow the sweetest
I hope to love my kids first like that

I love the classic loves
The old man holding his wife’s hand
Like he has been for forever and always
Just like he promised he would
Or first day jitters
Butterflies in your stomach over nothing
Utterly timeless

I love that I hope everyday
For someone to love me like I love these things
I wait for it, Secretly of course
I know it exists, with no proof or evidence
Like buried treasure I discovered on a map
Or in a fairy tale
I love the fairy tales too

I m still waiting for that forever love . Your poem is very refreshing full of wonderful things a lot of people take for granted or don't appreciate.

What the poet describes here is something like the practice of mindfulness. The speaker is taking note of those things that most of us let pass and savoring the beauty of them. Things like locking eyes briefly with a stranger and appreciating the unique nature of that experience in that moment is experiencing life as it is in the only time it really exists, now. An even greater exercise is looking fully at familiar things and seeing something we might have missed before. A unique poem celebrating a vital practice. Well done.

"allowing your eyes to graze the landscape" okay..you got me. This reads like a wonderful seat of shade and seed under a sycamore while you pray the river sleeping by and know that the deepest fish is watching back wondering with a smile, waiting for the last cloud of the day to see if you'll stick around and share it. Not many ways to write out this feeling but i believe you've caught enough, if not them all and it just doesn't get much better that that. Beautifully done~ Thanks!

There are aspects of our lives we must keep intact. Hope is one of them.

This is a healthy dose of what should be observed and held tight to the chest. When you are able to see the simple things as the best things in life, than everything else will pale in comparison. As far as the love that will come around if it hasn't already, It will magnify all these feelings and so many more. I really loved reading this today, put me in a happy place. thank you!!!

Thank you I think we all need a little extra emotion
There are so many aspects to Love in this sweet study of Life. You've captured a very fine mix of them, set your thoughts gently, and made me smile at their charm and - in a way, naivety - and that is meant as a true compliment. You notice and truly appreciate what's natural and real, bella. Hopefully you'll never ignore such things, they're the core basis of a wise and contented being. :)

Very nicely penned..and I love the second paragraph..where u express you. Love with the land

Each starting line of the paragraph begins with the same wording which really helps with the fluency in the poem.

I have a high standard for love poems, since I don’t like the ones that all sound the same (too fluffy). Here I am delighted that your love poem is full of sparkling ideas & honest expressions & vivid details that are relatable about everyday life. You’ve picked excellent examples, one for each stanza, & fleshed it out with well-expressed details we’ve all thought about or felt. Nice flow & progression from the general (love of broad possibilities) to the specific (longing for that special love). Definitely one of the best love poems I’ve read lately (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
