"I, Vampyre" - Epilogue

"I, Vampyre" - Epilogue

A Chapter by Kevin Corr

EPILOGUE

I suppose, at this point, I must admit to being a bit of an unreliable narrator.  I’m still here to tell the story, aren’t I?  All that delicious blood flowing… “The blood is the life,” haven’t you heard?

All I said was that I met my True Death.  But I’m afraid that Lady Death and I didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye.  I never was very good at long-term relationships.

We found the Kindred’s Bane, but we never found Bellissima’s dagger… or any trace of the geisha assassin, Kyoko.  As Belli might say " there’s always another bounty.

Aussie D tried her best to grow my hand back, but it didn’t quite work.  However, you would truly be amazed at the advances in cybernetics these days.

And another adventure is already brewing… it seems like Spike and Makenna’s old flame, Rodger, has gotten himself into a spot of trouble.

I am immortal, not mortal, never again. I am still evil… as much as the name I answer to now is an anagram of my human birth-name, I’ll be willfully wicked for as long as I ‘live.’

My Kindred, my friends sustain me, the essence of their kinship as much a part of me as the blood that flows through my dead veins:

            Bellissima thinks I’m complicated.

            Spike thinks I’m heroic.

            Adrianos thinks I’m redeemable (perhaps).

            Aussie Donna thinks I’m tastilicious.

            Makenna thinks I’m passionate.

Draconus (still) thinks I’m a threat.

Siren thinks I’m beautiful… bless her dark, lovely heart.

            My name is Nevik Roc.

            I am a vampire… no… I am Vampyre.

            Eternal.
