I got hurt

Why does my mother

Take another 

5 freaking years 

To bring my onion rings, here's 

Another reason why 

My day is so dry 

I dislocated my patella 

Boy, what a fella 

Helped me with my knee 

Got me a brace for free 

But I'm still out of a small onion rings

Five years? Surely just a SLIGHT exaggeration Ariana? I know it loathsome having to wait for such tastey treatsand being told that patience is a virtue doesnt cut it when some onion rings could quell the fact of leg in traction just as much as meds yes comfort food is best savoured when one gets and not while waiting...and up to FIVE YEARS for those damn onion rings!! I like your humour and how concise the piece reads just enough and not too much and a nice touch with the repetition..i will be back to read some more

That looks and sounds really painful Ariana. But on the bright side you have a new guy in your life and he seems like a good 'un fetching a brace for your injury.
The sadness of "onion rings" encapsulates this biographical poem showing that Life is comprised of layers, indeed - just like onions. But some layers make us cry and others make for good hearty soup.
