One day there was a storm and the cloud goddess Claudia gave birth to a boy named Goran, he slid out her belly and fell to the earth before Claudia could catch her son. She was grieving about her loss, so she went to the in charge of creating the humans, Hallbjorn, and begged him to find kind people on the earth to protect him and cherish him. Hallbjorn loved Claudia more than his own wife Marine the sea goddess, so he looked upon the earth to find people worthy of a god-son. Finally he found two old folks who never had a child who were kind and loving. He had the wind goddess Claire guide Goran to their door step and left a note on him proclaiming him the hero of the world.
14 years past and Goran was proving to be a very handsome, smart, strong and kind young man. He had speed, strength and agility greater than man. There came a day he was walking on his own along where the river and forest met and he heard a girl’s cries for help coming from the forest. He dashed to find the source of the cries so he could help. He came to the tallest and widest tree in the whole forest when he heard the screams the loudest. He was confident he could climb the tree with ease, as he ventured up the tree he found himself starting to become quite wrong and wondering how it was the girl had gotten to the highest branch of the tree. He came close to retreating down to the bottom when lo and behold he was at the top where the girl sat crying. He asked her name and decided to rest for a bit. As he rested he questioned how she got to where she was and why she came there,
“I called the birds to help me pick wisps of clouds for my mother, and they flew me up and placed me here,” she nonchalantly explained,” But they have left me here and I cannot get down”
“Naina, You were alone when you called the birds?” he asked.
“Yes, I know the call of the birds”
“Then why not call them again to fly you back down to the ground?” She had not thought of this. Goran had the girl call the birds again and they flew the two back down to the ground. Goran had never seen a girl so oblivious to the dangers of the world. It confused him, but it appealed to him greatly. So much so that he fell in love with the girl like a wall flower grows, subliminally.
A couple years past and Goran’s love for Naina grew more and more rapidly as he aged. He decided one day to ask her father for her hand. He walked up to her door confidently and knocked. Her father, an honest hard working baker, came to the door and answered it. Goran stated his mission. The father, Bjorn, took Goran for a walk along the river. When the time came that Bjorn found Goran worthy of his daughter he sat and gave Goran a special loaf of bread.
“Gor’ you are a very special young man. You are the man who will save the world we love and live on,” he tore a piece of the bread and threw it in the river, “Eat this bread and the answer will come to you as to how you will save the world.” He got up and left Goran to think and eat. Goran bit into the bread and hit something very dense and hard, it was a coin. On the coin was a prophecy, it said that a god-man would be born and he would be the savior of the world.
Goran went back to the house and asked Bjorn what this prophecy meant to him. He told the young man that when he was born there was a note on him saying he was going to be the hero of the world and that he would go to a blacksmith in the land of warriors to become a hero and save the world. Goran didn’t want to leave Naina, but Naina vowed she would not marry him if he did not go fulfill the prophecy.
So off he went to meet Bjorn’s brother Hjordis the blacksmith and his son Carl. He spent 3 years training before Naina came to marry him. However it was unbeknownst to everyone that an evil Sorceress Clara had cast a curse on Naina along her journey, to bring hardships to the hero in the prophecy. Clara had been Claudia’s maid, but she was the one who caused Goran to slip, so she was banished from the heavens. Because of this curse Carl fell madly in love with Naina and decided to fight Goran for her. Goran being a cocky headstrong young man accepted the challenge. He, of course, won the battle, which was all fun and games for Goran.
One day Naina went for a walk and got captured by the mighty Boar-Lion-bear Gunter. When she didn’t return from her walk Goran went to find her. When he got to her, he slayed the beast with his bear hands and saved her once again. He returned to the town and had a feast of the monsters meat.
The curse had kept getting worse day by day and one day the curse caused Naina to become deathly ill. She was also pregnant with twins. Goran, fearing for three lives, went to an oracle and asked for help. The oracle said he must go to the land of snow and terror and obtain an orange elixir from a wizard named Bartlov. Goran explained the time issue that he had to the oracle, the oracle told him to go on his enchanted polar bear Jegelbach. Goran started on his journey as soon as he could. He rode on Jegelbach for three days until he came to the land of snow and terror, another three days got him to a pig-monkey that breathed fire and spat acid that guarded the cave of Bartlov, named Fintersworth. Goran unsheathed his sword and severed the animal’s legs, but from the legs seeped a black fume and the clouds came to the severed stubs and reattached the legs to the stubs. Goran’s inhaled some of the fumes and fainted. He started to see his wife with children, his body started to relax as he felt his body start to die. Time passed and for an hour he lay still like this. Soon after he realized this was the effect of the black clouds, he tried with all his might to wake up from this comatose effect to no avail. He slowly started to slip into a forever lasting sleep until he heard a voice.
“My son, don’t fall for the Fintersworth’s intoxication. Use your godly lungs and breathe out the fumes.” It was his mother Claudia speaking to him through his soul. Goran tried again to get up. Nothing happened, then he listened to his mother and exhaled with all the power he had, he soon was confident he could stand, and he did. He soon regained his vision and strength. He hollered at the beast. The beast turned from its meal of the past visitor, it was clear no man had ever gotten past. Goran pulled out his bow and arrow and shot into the Fintersworth’s eyes. The eyes shriveled and spewed out fire and fumes, however the Fintersworth’s eyes were far above the mans head, so the fumes did not affect him. The Fintersworth fell to the ground and vaporized. All that was left was a heart and a claw. Goran gathered the remains and stored them in a pouch. He ventured into the cave.
“BARTLOV THE WIZARD, SHOW YOURSELF, I, GORAN, HAVE DEFEATED THE GORY BEAST AND HAVE COME FOR YOUR ORANGE ELIXIR TO SAVE MY WIFE!” Goran held the claw in the air above his head to prove his glory. Then out from under a table came a thin elderly man with a beard to the floor and a red and brown robe too short for him. He came up to Goran and caressed his face.
“You have come for the elixir to save your wife? You must take me home with you if you wish to have it.” said Bartlov. Goran agreed to bring him to his home. So they old wizard packed his things and rode back to the land of warriors with Goran and Jegelbach.
While Goran was gone the world had gone to war and towns had be burned down.
Bartlov gave Jegelbach a potion to speed up his motion and they arrived back to the land of warriors within 3 days. Goran walked in his house and found his wife nearing her end.
“Naina, my love, my wife, I have returned home, I can save you and our children now.” said Goran. He cooked the heart in the elixir and fed it to his sickly wife, and then within minutes she regained her color and health. They both began to glow and the roof opened and they flew to the heavens with Jegelbach and Bartlov. Bartlov and his bear were really Hallbjorn and his pet in disguise.
As a god Goran revived the burned towns and saved the world from the war by ending it. He lived with his wife and twins happily with the gods.
