an ode to my past self

an ode to my past self

A Poem by Mk.t.g
"

'you really just had to be happy, you know?'

"
how have you been?
you must've been aghast
hurt at the most
people you kept close to your heart
ended up piercing a bullet through it ever so viciously

no, nobody looked back
nobody gave you the 'sorry' you needed
yes, you couldn't talk to them
honestly, to hell with them

you're prying at yourself in the mirror
stealing glances there and there
wondering maybe you looked good right there?
you fix your hair, put on a smile
why did u never fix yourself, dear?
never redeemed your beautiful smile
or those emotions behind the once soulful eyes...

you unlearned all you had you learned than
you forgot all your memories of those two years
erased them like you were never thirteen or fourteen

this, you chose to forget, love
everything about her, you chose to forget

so, this is an ode to you,
a hymn for you
written in your very own tears...
please, stop crying yourself to sleep
the night will be short, winter will come round again
the sun will rise again... yet again

I needed this. I really did... and I know others needed this too. It is the most beautiful art to express everyone's common pain in the most beautiful way possible.
My eyes filled with tears.

In the first two parts, I felt like I was talking to a friend, I felt that support, someone holding my hand, someone on whose shoulder I could cry, and these are definitely lines that everyone should hear from time to time.

In the other part, I remembered that person deep inside me who still wanted to feel good and believed that she could feel good. This time, there was a hand that lifted her up. And in the most beautiful and supportive way.

"you unlearned all you had you learned than
you forgot all your memories of those two years
erased them like you were never thirteen or fourteen

this, you chose to forget, love
everything about her, you chose to forget"

I am aware that this part is a personified part for you, but it still had this meaning for me; since sometimes all of us are no longer with the people in the best moments of our lives, we erase a part of our lives along with those people, we prefer to forget. when we delete their photos, we actually delete a memory of ourselves. touchy.

and the last part
the sun will rise again and we will be fine, we will love again there will always be hope. in every period of our lives we will meet people who will love us and whom we will love.

thank you for sharing this hopeful poem that I will definitely read whenever I feel down. keep writing. take care.

Hard to do. But we must my friend.
"so, this is an ode to you,
a hymn for you
written in your very own tears...

the night will be short, winter will come round again
the sun will rise again... yet again"
The above lines. We shall learn. Hard days will make the good days better. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

dear Mk.... Winter is for feathered friends...
they keep their self ready for any Weather.
They are like Robots; however you must accept
the fact that we must be sheltered. gently, Pat
