Enduring Devotion: all goneA Poem by Mk.t.g
Was it fun to toss me around?
From time to time, till you saw fit I could have sworn I resented you But the past would always prevail How could I, How could I, discard all that we shared? How could I disregard your eminence in my life? You were the binds to my life You were the thread weaving my smile Why did it have to end in misery? My futile heart doesn't want to be your fugitive I can't seem to break free from those shackles Ones which I once considered your love for me Do you detest me to the point you want me not there? Did your love, in a trice, disseminate far away? Weren't we, dare I say, the epitome of illustrious love? I learned to not lean towards anyone, thanks to you Your conscience, consigned to oblivion, made me the toughest soldier out there Your vacant eyes, once filled with wavering warmth, made me lose faith in all Was it for the best, this separation? Was it all for nothing, this dissolution? Will it all go down in drain, and vanish in vain? Somewhere out there, I sincerely hope it won't rise into nostalgia
