A Chapter by Alexis

Can anything ever go right? As if going to a new high school in the middle of freshman year isn't hard enough, I just had to face-plant myself into the hallway floor. My books have scattered all around me, and I can feel a bruise already starting to form on my knee. So much for a wonderful happy first day. I can hear the rude voices of all the girls as the prance by. My long dark brown hair covers my face as I rise to one knee. I can feel the people all around me, judging me, just like they always do. All i can think about now is the embarrassment swelling around me. Seniors waltz by, lots of hot boys. Full of themselves. To proud to help me. I gather myself up and start to walk away but while doing so someone catches my eye. A guy. Short brown hair, blue eyes, mussels bulging under his white t-shirt. Leans against the black wall of the hallway, i can already tell he's shy. Like a stray dog, the outcast wanted but not wanted enough. One word comes and sinks into my mind.
Different.
