![]() First sightng the impossibleA Story by neurostar burnsArticle recently released, although submitted in Aug. 2024, has the amazing James Webb telescope breaking through the neutral hydrogen fog that obscures the very early universe and finding a bright galaxy with its JADES program. The galaxy is tagged, JADES-GS-z13-1-LA, or GS-z13-1. It is a incredibly early find with a redshift over 13.05 or 330 million years after the inception of the universe. This was thought beyond capacity even for a well equipped telescope to penetrate that fog. This is believed to be a first. The fog was believed impenetrable until now and so the earliest detections of the universe inaccessible. A second surprise is that within the fog, the galaxy GS-z13-1 puts forth a brilliant unexpected wavelength. Dr. Joris Witstok and Prof. Roberto Maiolino are the team leaders on this project. They report out of the University of Cambridge. A paper may be accessed through the journal Nature.
