Pandemic panic attacksA Story by neurostar burnsPresent time we are all caught up in hype on Covid-19, the 19th outbreak, not the first. The Corona is usually associated also with common colds effects. Indeed, most reaction recommendations are to chill, be calm and patient, be centered and mindful. It is helpful if we keep perspective on these pandemics and that may help reduce the mental anxiety. So let's see the relation of this current pandemic to others. Like Swine flu, Zika you don't hear the national press, Sars, Hong Kong flu and back and back. They all have been around and we should have learned from them by now and how to set up programmed responses instead of fanning the flames out of perspective. The above named are still around but where's the alerts, hunting down, etc. Because they are still here in the populations. Waiting for the right combination of conditions to flare up. They are not eliminated. These are biological outbreaks, not person against person. If one should accordingly be alarmed, what about the big one hundreds of years ago and it is still here? The Black Plague, Bubonic Plague? Barely hear a peep about it. Yet, 30 years ago it is traced by the CDC to be found from ocean to ocean. Reduced and dormant but still everywhere, still with rats, fleas, ticks, etc. So where is the big effort to eradicate? Manifold precautionary measures imposed. The rush of science? It seems complacent to just let it rest for now. Likewise, will probably be the history of this Corona virus. They say it will be around, but like the others will it be diminished or reduced.
