Great private doctor rip offA Story by neurostar burnsMost people who see a "medical provider" are likely to see one with white coats, and the longer they are is to signify how long or studied that they have been in that system which provides them status. Most people are to simply accept that is the system in total. To get their status in white coats and other benefits, they study what is only standardized and what they are told to and not told not to do. That is their basis of knowledge upon which they "see a patient". They get very good pay and benefits in that system. Private practice, and they can choose who not to see-turn them away by the thousands. Now what happens when they come across something that their training just does not cover? Not in preselected curriculum. A virus, infection, flare up or even the old, almost forgotten now punge stick flare up? What can the well paid provider do?? They might consult with other providers, send it for lab analysis or other specialty. But what if those can't come back with helpful responses? What to do, throw hands up, excuse the patient from further exams? Really professional!! Good administrative practice! But...But... once in while you have someone, if you are lucky, that is more resourceful. They look toward another group of providers. Everything at a lost, they do a last turn to "underlings", e.g. doctors without borders. (Oh my!) Swallowing pride and status, they ask one of these doctors who are front line and must respond to everything, e.g. in Africa, Puerto Rico, Korea, southeast asia, etc. where most white coats dare not to tread, what they think of this "difficult" case. The underling doctor which is grossly underpaid compared to the established white coat, looks at the data, the information for the poor, stressed white coat and says-oh yeah, you are not familiar with this? Never had it in all of your years? We see this 5 maybe 10 times each year. Case solved by "underlings" Guess who will likely get the credit.
