Luna, Revisited! Third entry (con't.)

A Story by neurostar burns

Scanning the alien panorama, there was seen in the distance rocky ridges with some detritus laying around large boulders. The color of the ground was of mud and an off light brown. Much of the area scanned appeared the same, rocks spewn almost everywhere. There seemed to be very thin pools of inert liquid here and there. Evidence of molten upheaval was present on the surface.  Occasional scrawny shrub could be spotted that was very low to the barren ground. Scanning more, there was evidence of turbulence of the ground. Many rocks looked upheaved. There were large rents to be detected in the distance. Amongst the ground nothing was perceived to move. Nothing animate was evident.
The atmosphere was split, there was low lying dust that retained an orange color and a large, orange, fiery orb filled half of the horizon as it set behind the ridges. Directly above was black sky bespeckled with white pinpoints of light which included a large band of milky colored ones. Off on the horizon could be faintly seen a gossamer, white orb that was not previously visible in the sky from that vantage point.
One of the scanning six communicated a comment,"Gah! I can't take this anymore. Let us repair to that white orb." The six created a light shimmer.
On the ground of the white orb, the six grouped together beheld they were amongst gray-brown rock and sand was everywhere. No atmosphere was at the orb. Black sky sprinkled with white pinpoints of light were everywhere, the milky band was a wide path across the sky. Only the angry orange orb at a distance broke the firmament.
The third communicated to the others, "What is this place?"
Pseudo-Aet remarked, "In some way, I feel more like them. Being among them is allowing me to accrue information to myself on how their organism operates."
The third communicated, "Accrue? Don't accrete! Their makeups are different than ours and if you accrete their natures you will lose your ability to function as one of us, perhaps forever. They relied overmuch on material integrity in their cultures. They had cranial limitations. We don't, and that is what allows us to be virtually all pervasive without material dependency* Don't accrete! That goes for all of us. Now we stop to rejuvenate."
All six became motionless, and if there was an outsider it would appear they wilted into themselves. They became also less visible to the point of transparency. They held that stasis for a long span of passing orbits.
"The denizens of the earlier story had odd notions, according to records that can be examined."
"For example?"
"They seemed to divide things a lot. What they called time was segmented so many ways and purposes, it would be considered counterproductive and baffling. They took that so seriously to be a base of existence. They did much the same with cataloging objects of most any kind. Their scope represented nothing of how the universe
operates. They did not catch on to the seamlessness that pervades, at least not early on. It would have saved them a lot effort if they had.
*These beings had a different evolvement on a distant, and ancient galaxy cluster (would be approximately 7.9 to 11 billion years old). There, they could initially be called arboreal. They lived above common substrate on a planet where land was comprised of atolls, archipelagos, escarpments, fissures, geysers. They evolved their membrane to stretch thin, akin to flying squirrels or mantra rays. Later still they raised their abode to the noctilucent level and thereafter into rarified space. They consider themselves to be a collection of individuals but do not ascribe any title or appellation or nomer to their specie's existence collectively.
They later developed the capacity to collect data, by osmosis of information packets from a subject, which is held in their whole being, as they encultured theirselves to become thinner, but data is almost invisible, like cyberspace. The bodies do not accumulate weight. Hence, the beings remain gossamer-like. If they do take form, they convolute upon theirselves until they approximate some form. Data can be obtained because data can be recorded and converted into a cyber which then is incorporated into the being. Hence, they can accumulate enormous amounts of data as information but they do not use it for any construct, and they are a kind of energy eater but not totally reliant as their beings cycle their energy.
In their evolved rarified state, they had adapted their information and bodily stamina into quantum entanglement. This is their voluntary mode of transport. It is instantaneous and requires little effort of arranging coordinates and is executed virtually without exertion to the being. Ages ago they departed from the confines of their home system and have since operated independent of any physical confines. The cosmos, anywhere at any location, is their abode.
