rebirth-consistent?

The largely popular concept of rebirth (upapatthibhava) from India and other sources may, in modern light, have an amendment at least.

Reading various sources on rebirth, one gets the impression that being reborn as a human is somewhat a boon and so much emphasis has been allotted for that.

However, with greater sensitivity of modern science techniques, it appears humans don't always get the best of being reborn. Now it is increasingly shown that not only do other lifeforms have better superior senses which provides more input, and some have advantage of regrowing lost limbs, it is found they utilize the input more fully and communicate to other members even at a distance. This is found true in the animal and now plant kingdoms. So that does not leave humans as the sole exploiters of information. It is not such a lowly position that has been the interpretation in the past. Now it being found that the ground and rocks also assimilate and communicate.

It seems characteristics are not consistently distributed, or favors a speciation.
