A Story by neurostar burns

Once again the eye for human origins turns towards Europe.
The article raises a point of Charles Darwin, that human origins could be found around Europe and not just Africa.
Hominin ape jaw of about 7 million years ago have been uncovered near Greece. A place called Nikiti to the north. It might be considered an European proto-hominin of more than 8 million years ago.
David Begun has looked again at the sample fossilized jaws. He says small canines are a hallmark of hominins He dubbed it, "Graecopithicus" to make it distinct from other hominins found around that time. He said the jaws have spiky teeth.
At that time it is thought that area was more like a savannah, and shared fauna that were much like African fauna.
