Time 's flow is reversed (again)!

The second law of thermodynamics is violated again by time reversal.

A team at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology lead by Gordey B. Lesovik, has developed an experiment where the arrow of time has its flow reversed, according to a report issued in mid-March 2019, although dated Nov.14, 2019. Another release dated March 12, 2019. There are multiple news releases carrying this story.

The team created a state that evolves in an opposite direction of the arrow of time. They used qubits with mixed superposition with a quantum computer. The results showed reversal of time 85% of the time. The team said they have space to even improve on that figure.

It is as if the scattered pool balls on a table are rearranged back to the racking position. An atom is seen moving 'forward' as is common, then with the application it is detected as moving back beyond the starting position just a tiny fraction, but otherwise that would not be expected behavior.

Lesovik lowers entropic states by utilizing Maxwell's Demon.

Only a few decades ago, time reversal was coffee table talk. Earller decades, it was the work only of speculative thought or science fiction.
