SHE blew off physicists

SHE blew off physicists

A Story by neurostar burns

Wu
aka:  Wu, Jianxiong, Wu, Chien-shiung
Born in China  May 31,1912, died February 16, 1997.
She attended Chinese Universities where men and women had equal access to sources data and were treated as equals in stature.
SHE blew off physicists in the world of physics, in the world of nuclear physics.
SHE antedated then current theories on subatomics  by the 1950's. The physics oddity, Feynman, almost wilted, other male scientists considered leaders at that time were simply out performed by Wu. SHE broke the gender barrier of the alledgedly  "free and equal" western society scientists.
After copious reading and attending Chinese universities, she spent time in the west in America. She intended to return to China in a short while but events favored that she spend more years in the west.
She is known for titles from her works. "The Lady of Physics", the "Queen of Physics".
Wu worked on the Manhattan Project.
Wu worked with misters Yang and Lee who received Noble prizes, but she did not despite doing the core work.
The "Wu experiment" contradicted the law of conservation parity of that time. Caused rewriting.
Wu dealt with details for the beta-decay and lead to double beta-decay.
