Hidden giant galaxies in space

Hidden giant galaxies in space

A Story by neurostar burns

Disney long searched for the obscure giants. Some greater than our Milky Way. Yet they were dismissed. No data collecting technique could convincingly give life to them even after decades. Then Bothun jumped in and still no dice except they did uncover an almost unbelievable giant, Malin I, which is bigger than the Milky Way but not optic, but no other distinct finds. This was as bad as working on obscure, underdense galactic voids.
It has been suspected for decades that dim galaxies do exist. Equipment to detect them had not been developed. Yet, if they are established, some scientists believe they will provide viable clues to the evolving of the universe from a different viewpoint.
A few assented that out there some dim light or nebulae may house dim galaxies of various sizes. Another attempt with others found the Coma Cluster could be a fruitful site. Perhaps 47 candidates were located as diffuse and dim lighted galaxies. Then van  Dokkum in the last 5 years proposed a special telescope, using mirrors to deflect light glare to be uncommonly sensitive to detecting very dim lighted, distinct galaxies.
Jin Koda sorted through existing photos looking for dim galaxies and more candidates are located. Subaru telescope may have located 854 dim galaxies.
Michael Disney might yet be vindicated and a mystery in the cosmos may be resolved, with implications on the universe's structure and development different from today's dominant proposals. A total accounting of the contents of the cosmos remains elusive. This endeavor may help explain more of the nature of the content than before by examining thoroughly the more subtle aspects. There are many sources focused on this.
